Laery and Co. report for the past week as follows : — Wheat — Prime milling, 2s 6|d : medium to good, 2s 5d to 2s 6d, f.o.b. Southern ports ; whole fowl wheat, 2s Bd, ex stores. Oats —Prime short oats, Is 7d to Is 8d ; stout feed, Is 6d to Is 7d ; Danish, Is 7d ; duns, Is 8d to Is 9d. Barley— Best malting, os 6d ; medium to good, 2s 6d to 3s. Maize — In fair demand, at 2s 6d to 2s 7d per bushel. Chaff— Steady business has been passing in prime, bright lines at 57s 6d to 62s 6d ; medium to good, 47s 6d to 55s per ton. Cocksfoot— Prime bright machine- ! dressed, 4Jd ; bright heavy undressed, 4d to 4^d ; rough undressed, 3d to Sijd. Eyegrass — Poor demand. Prime heavy machine dressed, 4s 3d ; good heavy un- . dressed, old pasture, 3s 6d to 3s 7d ; ■ rough farmers' lots, 2s 9d to 3s. Hides— Good plump heavy ox hides, well flayed are worth from 14s to 16s ; good 11s to 12s ; cow hides, 6s to 7s. Potatoes — Southern growers show some anxiety to force sales and values during the week have receded fully 5s per ton. Choice Derwents, 45s to 47s 6d per ton. : gfßutier — The market shows some slight ! indications of improvement, and we anti- ' cipate as the winter advances values will tend to harden, Prime separator, in roll, ' BiA ; ordinary, 8d ; prime dairy, 6d to 7d ; medium, 5d ; prime salt, 6d to 6£d ; pastry, 3d to 4d per Ib.
