8 The following cases were heard at 9 the Palmerston Court yesterday : — fc Longburn Freezing Co. v. T. Mcfc Farland, claim £2 10s, costs 11s, soli--1 citor's fee ss ; same v. A. L. Parr, claim £2 10s, costs ss, solicitor's fee ss; 1 same v. D. D. McKenzie, claim £2 3 10s, costs 17s, solicitor's fee 5s ; same v. W. Lockyer, claim £6 ss, costs 20s, solicitor's fee 15s ; same v. J. R. Davis, claim £6 ss, costs 15s, solicitor's fee f 15s 6d ; same v. A. Baigent, claim £6 os, costs 11s, solicitor's fee 15s 6d ; same v. E. Jackman, claim £2 10s, costs Bs, solicitor's , fee ss ; same v. T. Moffatt, claim £2 10s ; judgment for amount claimed, costs 41s, solicitor's fee ss. Longburn Freezing Co. v. J. R. i Wild bore ; claim, £2 10s, allotment and first call of two shares. i Defendant in his evidence said that after agreeing to take the shares lie heard that the company was not in a ( prosperous state, and he a'ccordinsdy wrote to the company and stated that it was not his intention to take up the i shares. The letter was forwarded prior to the notice of allotment being issued to him. Mr Macpherson, secretary to the company, in his evidence, said he received no letter from defendant about the shares prior to the aJlotment, neither had he any recollection of a letter being received from defendant subsequently. His Worship adjourned the case until next Monday to enable defendant to call further evidence.-— Standard.
