Rise in the Price of Kerosene.
— _. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, This Day. The local kerosene market, despite the arrival of the barque Trinidad from New York last week witb nearly ten thousand cases, is very firm. Holders are asking one shilling per gallon in bond for parcels — an advance of 15 per cent, on prices ruling three months ago. It is expected there will be a farther increase in value at an early date. Local importers say paraffin wax is certain of responding sympathy witb kerosene, which will affect the price of candles of the better qualities.
