The annual report of the Opera House Company states that £1200 has been paid off the mortgage during the year, and the debit balance to profit and loss reduced by .£930. The net income for the year was £2049. Beauclerc, second son of and secretary to Mr Justice Williams, died this morning from pneumonia The Hon Mr Cadman visited the Canada Beef claim, near Milton on Saturday, where he was asked to grant assistance towards the erection of a small battery. Ohristchurch, April 28 A young man named Peter Augustus Hamilton, tinsmith, died suddenly yesterday. He had been suffering from consumption, and the cause of death was rupture of a blood vessel. Auckland, April 27. The Kawhia tribe asked to withdraw their claims from the Court to-day at Otorohanga, wbich completes the tribal circuit of Robe Potae. The Court would not grant the withdrawal of the claims. Intimation has been received that the Hinemoa will arrive here on the loth of May, for the purpose of conveying His Excellency the Governor and the Countess of Glasgow to Wellington. This Day Leonard Lee, 38, boat builder at Whitianga, took a tit while spearing a flat fish and was drowned.
