The Fruit Growers', Conference.

o — — (Per Press Association.. Hobakt, April 25. The intercolonial conference of fruit growers is now sitting at Hobarfc daily, and is attended by delegates representing the six colonies. Interesting papers have been road and discussed on fruit culture, transportation, distribution, and preservation, the codliu moth pest and legislation affecting the fruit trade generally. Efforts are being made to form an Australasian Federal Fruit Growers' Association, having branches in each colony with the object of interchanging information, procuring united action, and securing encouragement from the various Governments on behalf of the industry. The intercolonial fruit show was a great success. All the colonies except Western Australia were represented. New Zealand made an excellent display, the pomologists, Messrs J. C. Blackmore and Palmer, being roundly congratulated. Eeprcsentations are being made to the New Zealand Government to hold the next conference at Wellington in March. The New Zealand delegates are responding to invitations to visit orchards hero and in other colonies in order to obtain all possible information as to the methods of culture and marketing. This Day. The Conference discussed the question as to whether the English market should be concentrated in London or divided amongst tho provinces.
