Manawatu Rugby Union.
A meeting of the above was held at the Royal Hotel, Palmerston North, last night, there being ■"= presen't-^-Messrs H. Nash (Pirates, \ ; m ("the chair), J. S. Macarthur and Ii Fake (Falmerston), D. B. Harris (Pirates), A. Mahon (Half-Holiday), Giesen and Roe (Feilding), Leys and Icod (Marton). ■•■ '"■ '.■-••^•■t '-■ :•:,■ ■<■ It was resolved to nominate the Awahuri Club for the junior championship. The amount of £2 ss, due to the Marton Club for buggy hire, was allowed. This sum was set against the 1893 subscription of that <club. , ? A letter was received" from s Mr Hoben, hon. secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union, recommending Mr C. Marter as 'the^Manay watu delegate to the ''Uniting lie als6 advocated the formation of branches of the Referees' Association in the Manawatu district, with-' a/ -general secretary at Palmerston. Mr C. Marter was appointed dele* gate of the Manawatu Rugby Union to the New Zealand Union. It v/as resolved that the Union offer no objection to the Bangitikei Union joining the N.Z. Union. The following fixtures for the first round were passed :-— -VApril 27th. — Palmerston v. Pirates, at Palmerston ; Feilding v. Marton, at Marton. May 4th.— Palmerston v. Teilding, at Feilding ; Marton v. Pirates, at Palmerßton. May 11th.— Palmerston ?. Marton, at Palmerston ; Feilding y. Pirates, at Feildinp;. — Standard.
