The Japan-China Treaty. ATTITUDE OF GREAT BRITAIN.
(Per Press Association.) Tokio, April 23. Japan will evacuate Waihaiwci on payment of the socoud instalment of the indemnity, provided China will pledge the customs duties for payment of the balance. London, April 23. A meeting of the Cabinet takes place to-day to decide whether Great Britain will unite in the European protest against the peace conditions demanded by Japan. April 21. The Daily News assorts that (treat Britain declines to interfere with Japan as she considers her interests are not injured by the terms of peace. Shanghai, April 24. The Mercury states that Mauking, instead of Peking will be opened to foreign trade.
