TAONUI.

The annual meeting of householders for the purpose of electing a committee for the year was held in the schoolhouse, Taonui, last evening. Only ten householders were present. Mr William Bailey was elected chairman. The balance-sheet, on being read, showed the amount received to be £17 10s 5d and amount expended £16 9s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £l Is 3d. The ballot for the new members resulted as follows : —W. L. Bailey, 9 ; W. A. L. Bailey, 9 ; Walter Mexted, 9 ; John Brady, 9 ; George Hori, 8 ; A. Campbell, 6 ; A. Goldfinch, 6; William Bingham, 4 ; Henry Ahuriri, 3. The first; seven gentlemen were duly elected. At a meeting of the committee afterwards Mr W. A. L. Bailey was elected chairman and Mr W. Mexted secretary.
