Accidents and Fatalities.

[Per Press Association] Dunedin, April 22. Alfred William Griffiths, flaxnaill owner, Rornahapa, was accidentally killed this afternoon. One of the pulleys on the main shaft flgw to pieceg. Griffiths was struck on the head, receiving fatal injuries. At the inquest on John McPherson Campbell, Customs waiter, a verdict of accidental death was returned. Deceased had fallen down the companion way of the steamer Flora. He was taken to the hospital. As there were no marks it was supposed he was suffering from apoplexy. After death it was found there was a fissure or crack at the thinnest part of the rie^ht side of the skull. The medical witnesses were of the opinion that he had struck his head against something soft, which cracked the skull without injuring the scalp. Auckland, April 22. At the ioquest on Daniel Snodgrass, found drowned in the harbour, an open verdict was returned. He left a hotel at 2 o'clock in the morning to go and see a relative. The police have enquired into tli9 supposed suicide of Roberts at Mureraki, Kaipara, but have not found the missing man
