The Nelson Volunteers.

9 [per press association ] . Nelson, This Day. The news that the volunteers have at length left Wanganui was received here with a great deal of satisfaction. Many employers have been greatly inconvenienced by prolonged absence of the men, and the places of one or two have been filled, but it is to be hoped only temporarily. Amongst the battalion are the City Surveyor (Capt. Jickell) and the Foreman of Works. The Mayor and Town Clerk have been temporarily attendiDg ro their duties.
