o The latest report of Mr Freyburg, timber expert at Home, is concerning the extensive trade done by Norway, Sweden and Russia, in supplying the English market with wood pulp, manufactured from sawdust and wood shavings, for paper making purposes. As millions of tons of sawdust are annually wasted in this colony. Government is obtaining information as to tbe process of manufacture, and the possibilities of opening up a trade. Information is also being sought as to the likelihood of a market in the United States for railway sleepers of New Zealand hardwoods. — Post,
