Fatal Accident.
(Per Press Association.) Mklkournk, April 12. A terrible accident occurred in the air chamber section of the llobson's Bay main sewerage last night. Six men were working in the chamber at the time when an inrush of water occurred. Watson, the engineer, was about to enter the chamber when a man named Burke, who was inside, pushed him back and shut the door iv his face. Looking through the glass iv the door Watson saw that the water was rising on Burke. The hero had apparently seen that there was no chance of saving his own life and that of the others in the chamber, so he closed the door to save the lives of the men in the tunnel. The names of the drowned are : — Buchanan, civil engineer, Burke, boss of the shift, Johnston, Gabriel, Jackson, and Foster. No bodies have been recovered. This Day. The bodies of all of the men have been recovered from the sewerage tunnel. They were evidently drowned in the first rush of water.
