Serious Accidents.
We regret to learn that on Saturday last Mr Joseph Bramwell met with a serious accident while riding home to Col v ton at about 8 o'clock. He yeas riding towards Taonui and when nearly opposite Mr "William Bailey's residence he mot a trap with lights, and while passing it his horse took fright and bolted. Mr Bramwell was thrown heavily, receiving several severe wounds about the head. He made Mr Bingham, who lived oppo site, aware of the accident, and with the assistance of Mr William Bailey Mr Bramwell was driven into Feilding to his brother's residence, where he was attended by Dr Johnston. We understand he is progressing as well as could be expected under the circumstances. A member of the Hastings Rifle Volunteers met with an awkward mis hap when runuiug on the railway line yesterday. Ho did not observe the "cattle stop" until too late and fell violently on his face- Ho was rendered insensible. His left eyo was much contused
