In the charge against John Adeane, ft bankrupt of Gisborne, of having failed to keep proper books of acconnt, as there | was no appearance of the defendant a warrant was granted for his arrest by the I Magistrate. Detective Grace arrested Ernest Wright on his departure for Sydney by the Manapouri on a charge of the larceny of a watch and jewellery, the property of Douglas Watt, of Hastings. The New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association have informed the Premier that they warmly approve of Ministers reported intention to establish a New Zealand Humane Society. New Plymouth, April 10. A very successful smelt of ironsand according to Mr E. Purser's patent process took place today at Okey's foundcv. Castings of ingots and wheels were made, and Mr Puraer expects the analysis will prove the metal to be high class steel.
