An Important Judgment.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, April 8. Mr Carew, S.M., gave judgment to-day holding that the transfer of certain Bank of New 2«a2and shares frocn plauitiff to the defendant, not having been approved of by the Directors of the Bank, the transfer was not completed nor operative, and therefore that plaintiff could not recover the sum of >£27 10a, for which he sued as the amount of a call which he had been obliged to pay on shares sold to defendant. His Worship having given judgment for the defendant on the ground stated, Mr Barclay said as it was a somewhat important point and CO yered a great many cases, he proposed to take the opinion of the Supreme Court in the matter. A case has been stated.
