Band of Hope.

Last night the monthly meeting of the Feilding Band of Hope was held in tlie Temperance Hall, which was well filled, the majority of those present being young people. The Rev J. Cocker was in the chair and gave an opening address. Recitations were given b.y Misses Svensen, Laura Copestake, Naomi Holmes, Ediih llodgers, and Masters Stanley Shearer and Leslie Thompson. Duets by Misses Ross and Valentine and Messrs A Shearer and A. Williamson ; a violin solo by Miss Ross, and a song by Mr W- G. Shearer were also contributed during the evening. The various performers discharged their duties in a creditable manner, and the audience were not slow in fhowing their appreciation, A number of pledges were taken at the close of the meeting.
