The Late Mr J. R. Harper.
The news of the fatal accident by which Mr J. K. Harper lost his lifo will be received with deep regret by many of our readers. Deceased was well-known in business circles iv Palmerston as an energetic and capable man. After residing at Carupb^lltowa for some time he pame to Palmerston, and for nome years was local agent fo# the Singer Company. He also rsQ§ntiy erected extensive stables in liangitikei street, Deceased was an active member of the Masonic Order, and this year occupied the ohair of Senior Warden in th© Manawatu Kilwinning Ijodge. E[e was a member of the Royal Aroh Chapter, holding the offices of conductor in the E.M. Lodge, and Senior Warden in the Mark. His sudden death -will be keenly felt by a very large circle. Deceased was in the prime of life, and only recently passed an examination for life insurance as a first-class life. The remains of deceased will be brought to Palmerston to-morrow. The funeral will take place on Sunday, and will probably bo a Masonic one. We learn tha.t t\\e life, of the lato ]% J. R, Harper was insured, for. L245C£ made up as follows :— A.M. P.
