Messrs Lowes and Irons report on their stock sale held at Masterton on Wednesday, the catalogue comprised some 15,000 sheep, 120 head of cattle, 120 rams, and 40 pigs. In fat sheep, wethers made 7s 6d, store wethers 5s to 7s 2d, ewes, 4s to 4s 9d, young ewes, 4s 6d tc ss, good breeding ewes, 2s 6d to 4s 6d, medium 2s 6d, aged ewes, 9d to Is Id ; lambs, best, 3s 3d, medium 2s 6d, culls 6d to Is ; rams, Lincolns, 1 to H guineas ; cattle, fat cows .£4 to £4. 10s, stores, 60s, store steers 70s; young steers 47s 6d, yearlings, 30s, calves 20s ; pigs, stores, 255. slips 14, weaners ss, Freeman R. Jackson and Co.'s Wanganui stock report is as follows : — The general opinion expressed at our sale yesterday was that prices for sheep were firmer and better. Cattle are without quotable change excapt good store bullocks which are better worth. Pigs were not quite so firm. At Waverly : Good bullocks, £4: to £5 . steers, £2 6s ; heifers, £2 to £8 0s 6d ; yearlings 275. At Wanganui : Store steers, ±3 5s 6d to £3 16s ; fat cows, £3 to £3 18s ; milch cows, £3 5s to £5 ; young steers, £2 ; yearlings, 318 : weaners, 18s to 19s ; calyes, 9s, Sheep — At Waverley : Store wetheis, $3 to 7a 3d ; ewes, 8s 9,4 to 7s 9<J : mixed gneop, 4s 6d, At Wanganui : Fat ewesj 6s to 7s ; wethers, 83 ; wethers and evsre.3 two-tooth, 6s 7d ; 'full-month ewes, 4s 7d; lambs in wool, 4s ; shorn, 3s ; culls, 2s 6d. A pen of Shropshire Down ewes, made 15s ; a pen of pure -bred Lincoln ewes, bred by Mr R. Hair, made 21s. Pigs — Baconers, 253 to 30s ; good pork, 16s to 21s ; smaller sorts, 7s Gd to bs 0d ; young pigs, 3s to ss.
