The War Between China and Japan.
(Per Press Association). Shanghai, March 14. Captain Hanneken has retired from the Chinese service. A strong Japanese squadron threatens the descent on Kelung and Tarn Sin in the north of Formosa. It is intended to make Pescadores Group, near Formosa, the basis of operations against Southern China. It is reported China has offered concessions to Russia in return for assistance in bringing about peace.
