The Wesleyan Conference.

Q (Per Press Association). Sydney, March 14. The Wesleyan Conference has appointed the Rev. Moulton Chairman of tha Tongan district. The Tongans sent a grandson of King George as a special delegate to the • Conference to allow Mr Moulton to return to the island. This placed the Conference in a dilemma. The services of Mr Moulton, as principal of the Newingtou College, are necessary to carry through the scheme for affiliating its college to University College, and the authorities of the former strongly opposed his removal ; but the difficulty was overcome by appointing Mr Moulton to act from Sydney, only visiting the islands for the annual Synods till the process of affiliation was completed.
