New South Wales Politics.

o (Per Press Association.) Sydney March 13* Mr Scliey, after upseting the order oi the Government business, carried his victory further by securing a suspension of the Standing Orders to permit a Bil] • to be passed through all its stages. The Bill provides for uniform eight hours, with certain exceptions, and imposes lines and imprisonment on employers and employes exceeding eight hoars' work. In the Assembly, Mr Watkin moved an adjournment in order to condemn the action of the Government in sending the police to Mirmi, in connection with the colliery strike. Several lajbour members made accusations of partisan spirit and of favouring the colliery proprietors. They also alleged the Government was lending assistance in the evictions of miners. Ministers denied the charges, and asserted it was their duty and their intention to maintain law and order, and they would take any steps they deemed necessary for the purpose. Sir H. Parkes urged the Government to introduce legislation compelling an investigation of trade disputes. This Day. It is freely rumoured in the lobbies that Sir H. Parkes is sounding certain members as to whether they would support him in the formation of a Ministry, placing federation in the fore front of his policy, and leaving the fiscal question to be decided by the Federal Parliament.
