Bowling Club.

A meeting of intending members of the above Club met at Mr E. Giesen's office last evening. Present —Messrs W. A. L. Bailey (in the chair), E Giesen, H. W. Davy, B. Gosling, J. McLaren, H. Bastings, J. Prior, and P. Thomson. The sub- Committee, Messrs Thomson and McLaren, appointed to can* vas for members, reported that fiftyfive gentlemen had signified their intention of joining as playing, and three as honorary members. Proposed by Mr Bastings, seconded by Mr Thomson, That the ground offered by the Colonists' Land and Loan Corporation be purchased" at the price ask&d,, £30.— Carried. Proposed:^ Mr Thomson, seconded by MrGoslitig, That Messrs Bailey, Davy, Baetinga, Sandilande, and Gosling, be the trustees of the ground. —Carried. Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Bastings, That Messrs Bailey, Thomson, Bray (senr.), and McLaren, be a ground committee. — Carried. Resolved, That the Secretary be instructed to write to all members asking them to pay their subscriptions by the 20ih instant to enable the ground to be purchased at once. Resolved, That Mr H. L. Sherwil be treasurer and Mr EL W. Davy secretary, and that the Bank of New Zealand be their bank. Resolved, That the next meeting be held at £he same place on :be 20th instant. Eesolved, That 10s 6d entrance fee be charged to all members joining after the first seventy-five. This being all the business the meeting adjourned.
