Wesleyan Conference.

(Per Press Association). Nelson, March 12. The Conference granted permission to the Rev L. M. Isitt to visit England with letters of introduction to the English Conference. At the Wesleyan Conference to-day a letter was read from the Church Prohibition League, asking for a ruling that no liquor sellers or members of Jockey Clubs who promote gambling by holding office in Jockey Clubs be allowed election to offices in Christian Churches. After discussion the Conference decided, ou the motion of the Rev Morley to reply that the position of the Wesleyau Church with reference to temperance and gambling is sufficiently denned in the resolutions of the general conference and annual conference for years past. The Conference has closed.
