A Stabbing Case.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, March 11. A case of stabbing took place this afternoon in McLaggan street. A woman named Emily Shea entered a second hand shop and was followed in a few seconds by her husband, Peter John Shea, who asked her what she was doing there, at the same time prodacing a pen knife and stabbing her in the abdomen. It is not considered serious, but the woman appears to have had a narrow escape, for had not the knife struck the whalebone in her corset it would have penetrated much deeper. Shea waa under the influence of drink at time. Relations with his wife have much strained of late and a deed of separation had been prepared, which was lobe signed in Court on Thursday to settle the case in which his wife sued him for maintenance.
