The War Between China and Japan.
o [Per Press Association] Shanghai, March 4. Tho Japanese have occupied the Saigentai district in Manchuria, as far as Tapukou. They are steadily advancing on Newchang and have had frequent fights with the Chinese, but suffered only triyal loss. Three Japanese cruisers engaged the forts at Teuchyor for a time and then retired for what object it is unknown. Mutual peace negotiations are progress sing fayourably.
