IF BOH OVB OTTN CORHESPONDKNT-l Nothing of very great interest to chronicle. The ratepayers rolled up very well to vote for the loan of £7328 in the Pohangiua ward. Out of 93 votes available 53 were recorded in favor of the loan and only one against. This loan was wanted as the township is making but slow progress. Mr Cullen is adding to his premises a building to be used as a boarding house. I saw a new way of putting shoes ou a horse the other day. I suppose the animal was a bit of a tartar so he was placed comfortably on his side. He was helpless to do evil iv that position. There is to be a grand picnic held at Hopkinsvillc, Lower Pohangina, the date of which will shortly be announced. It is certain to bo a success as the organisers arc very much iv earnest. Visitors from a distance will have the usual bounteous hospitality extended to them. Full details will be sent you ere long. A church of England is to be erected in Lower Pohangina in a short time, and a considerable sum of money has already been collected for the purpose. Formerly services were held in the schoolhouso, but as that has beeu removed, they are now held in Mr McDonald's woolshed kindly placed at the disposal of the congregation by that gentleman. The site of the proposed structure has yet to be decided on.
