An Attempt to Swindle the Public.
(PEB PBEBS ASSOCIATIONS London, March 8. Shares have been allotted in the Australia Gold Mining Company which has been formed with a capital of .£120,000 to acquire a lease at Coolgardie. The shares are quoted at £6 premium. The financial papers assert this is a barefaced attempt to rig the market and the allotment is dishonest The whole affair is denounced as tbe outcome of a conspiracy to defraud the public. Tbe blame, however, is cast on the directors in the colony The Pall Mall Gazette states several hundred pounds were collected on the Exchange with a view to instituting criminal prosecution. It is feared the exposure will have the effect of crippling all business in Australian mines
