♦ (Per Press Association.) Auckland, March 3. Sailed— H-M.S. Royalist for Melbourne and Hinemoa for the South. The National Association is starting a monthly journal called the Liberty, to furrier its object. The Harbor Board ha9 authorised Mr A H Nathan, ex-chairman, who is going to England to make enquiries relative to the proposal of the conversion of tbe loans of 1874 and 1882. Lord Glasgow entertained Rear-Ad-miral Bridge and the captain of the German warship at diuner at the Governmatt House. Kemp, second mate of the steamer Glenelg, whilst unloading cargo got injured and bad his leg broken. Mail advice states that Col. North and party took up the shares in the Silverton mine. Waihi, and secured an offer for a fixed period at a considerable premium. Ten thousand shares have been reserved. Manaia, March 2. Mr John Millroy, chairman of the Manaia Town Board, and for many years Mayor of Patea Borough, died suddenly yesterday through failure of the heart's action. Dunedin, March 2. James Simpson, late assistant clerk at the Magistrate's Court, was picked out of the water at Ocean Beach this afternoon. He was resuscitated on being taken to the Racecourse Hotel. The man has been intemperate of late.
