Messrs Nolan, Tonks and Co report : — Oar usual fortnightly sale was held at Elthara on 25th inst. We had a good master of stock and a good resulted. At Hawera, on 2Sth in?t. the quantity advertised came forward. Bidding for most lines was brisk, prices for cattle being better than for some considerable time. At Elthatn — Store cows, L2 17s to L3 3s ; fat and forward cows, L3 9s to L3 15s ; fat cows, L3 ; weaners, 19s to 23s ; vearlings, 32s to 38s : 2-yr steers, L2 10s to L2 17s 6d ; springers, L4 to L4 10s. At Hawera — Springing heifers, L3 10s to L4 5s ; fat cows, L3 12s 6d to L4 ; store cows, L2 17s 6d to L3 3s ; fresh condition cows, L3 17s 6d to L3 10s ; cows and calves, L3 os to £o 12s 6d ; weaners, 19s to 23s *'d ; yearling steers, 30* to 38s ; yearling steers. £2 2s 6d to £2 10b ; 18---month to 2-yr steers, L2 10s to L3 ; 2 to 2h vr steers^ L3 10s ; 18 month to 2 year heifers, L2 to L2 2s 6d. Sheep— Woo IKlambs, 3s to 3* 7d ; fat wethers, 7s lid ; 2 tooth ewes, 5s 8d ; aged ewes, 3s to 4s 6d.
