Laery and Go. report for the past week as follows ; — Wheat— Without alteration. A few transactions have taken place in prime milling samples at prices about on a par with thoee last reported. Prime i milling (old season's), 2s 6d ; medium to i good. 2s 5d to 2s od ; new season's prime i nominally, 2s 3d to 2s 4d f.o.b. Southern : ports : whole fowl wheat, 2s 7d to 2s Bd, , ex stores, Wellington. Oats — Consider* able quantities are coming forward from the South, but meantime the market is without change. Prime short oats, Is 8d to Is 9d ; stout feed, Is 7d to Is 7Ad ; Danish, la 6d to Is 7d ; duns, Is 10d. Barley Business at present ia restricted owing to the extreme rates asked by holders. We anticipate a marked dechne on the prices at present quoted. Best malt* ing, 4s : medium to good, 3s 6d to 3s 9d. Maize— ln fair demand at from 2s 6d to 2s 7d Pollard-Stocks light and holders are firm in their quotations Current value 77s 6d per ton. Chaff— Piirae bright samples meet with fair sale at unaltered rates. Prime bright heavy new season's, 57s 6d to 62s 6d ; medium to good, 47s 6d to 55s per ton.
