A severe struggle ensued between the • Moderates and Progressives at yester ■ day's London County Council Election. 3 The Moderates had a sweeping victory, I and many of the divisions have gone t over to them entirely. They secured 22 ■ seats formerly held by their opponents, f while the Progressionists only secured t one Moderate seat. f The complete result will probably be > known on Monday, as in four divisions i the counting is not concluded. i The Progressive Party favour muni- ■ cipal gas and waterworks, control of \i trains, the liquor traffic and theatres, to i equalise the rates and unify autbor--5 ity. The Moderates are opposed to coliecf I tiveism. f I
