George Samuel Hadfield and Charleß Low, who as directors of the Northumberland Building Company, were sentenced to seven years' imprisonment have been released after serving three years. The Court martial on Capt. Close has concluded. Accused in his evidence admitted he had intercourse with Miss Cummins on several occasions as be believed her to be a woman of loose morals. He asked her to marry him. but never promised to do so absolutely. He denied the more serious chnrges made against him. The Court reserved its de cision. Melbourne, February 28.
