THE FINAL TEST MATCH.
(Per Press Association.) Melboubse, February 29. Tbe Australian team was selected to- ! night. It ie as follows ;— Geo. Giffen, Lyons, A. Jarvis, Darling, Bruce, Graham, H. Trott, A Trott, Iredale. Gregory and McKibben Turner is the twelfth man. Humphries and Gay stand out of the English team. There is a tremendous influx of visitors in Melbourne from all the colonies, and the excitement over the cricket match runs very high. The weather to-night is fine and looks promising, but Mr Wragg predicts tnat to-morrow will be cloudy and showery. This Day. It took about half-an-hour to select the Australian team. Only three names were at stake — Lyons, Turner and McKibbin. Turner voted against Lyons. He did not object to McKibbin, but he felt very sore at being left out himself. He claimed to be in first-class form, and on his reputation considered he ought to be in. He says he has now done with cricket. At 9 o'clock this morning there was every sign of fine weather for the match to-day.
