The building of the Public Hall will be proceeded with as soon as i'lo more is in the hands of the Treasurer. Will those who have promised subscriptions kindly hand them in at once and then the amount will be met. The polling for the loan of £7328 for the Pohangina Biding takes place on Saturday next, 2nd March, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p,m. at the Council office. Mr Selby has convened a meeting of the Small Farm Association to be held in Mrs Lucas' cottage on the same day. Mr Long, of your town, has just completed in a satisfactory manner the addition of two rooms bo fche Council office. The work has been rapidly and well carried out. He is now engaged in making i additions to Mr Culling's house. When completed Mr Culling will be able to accommodate a large number of persons. Travellers patronising him may rely on receiving good accommodation and substantial fare at reasonable rates. Mr Frank Sullivan, of this place, has completed a four-roomed house here for Mr J. McKenzie. It is a credit to the builder. The Secretary of the Hall Committee wishes to acknowledge receipt of the sum of £2, proceeds from the ball on the 15th instant. — Standard.
