The Argus considers that the letter of Mr Turner, Premier of Victoria, to the Premiers of South Australia and New Zealand on the subject of the Reciprocity Treaty might well be entitled " Victoria reproving Sin." This Day. The Premier is not enamoured of the Hon. Mr Wynne's pension liquidation scheme, but he has consented to allow an acturial report to be made upon it. Sydney, February 26. Parliament resumed to-day. A petitfon was presented submitting that, by the acceptance of the position of Solicitor. General (temporarily, during the absence ot Mr Want in England), the Premier had vacated his seat. Mr Reid explained that the position was an unsalaried one, and therefore there was no ground for the petition. A motion to refer tbe matter to the Qualification Committee was negatived. The H.M.S. Pylades, which recently arrived from England, to take the place of the Curacoa on the Australian station, has been ordered to New Zealand to join the squadron, and leaves for Auckland on Saturday. The Rev. James Carruthers has been elected President of the Wesleyan Conference.
