The weather this morning is dull. Brown, of Christchurch, and Angell, of Wellington, are pretty well knocked out, and Angell will not start in the threemile event, Dodwell taking his place. , Yesterday Brown suffered his first defeat in the high jump, and after Bailey was declared the winner he wished to have a go at 5 feet 9 inches, , but the Committee were unable to give him an opportunity. The two Bs are a dandy pair of jumpers, and would take i a lot of beating in any country. i Everything points to a large attendance this afternoon. Auckland is regarded as a "moral" for the- banner with Canterbury a good second. Snould Martin and Roberts fail in the 440 hurdles, Canterbury may carry off the honors. ■
