How Land Banks are Worked.
(Per Press Association.) M elboukne. Phis Day. The Supreme Court refused the application of the liquidators of the Caledonian Land Bank to have the name of Goodwin placed on the list of contributors Respondent opposed the application on the ground he had been induced to take shares by means of fraudulent misrepresentations contained in the prospectus. Tho Chief Justice said the formation of tbe company was really a scheme to enable David Munro to sell his own property to the company at a very large price, and throw the burden on a number of simple-minded working men.
