Champion Athletic Meeting.

« (Per Press Association.) Napier, This Day, Heavy rain fell last night, but cleared this morning and is now scorching hot. AH the representatives except a couple from Wanganui who arrive to-night are present. Napier is en fete over the meeting, which promises to be most successful. Tho citizens are doing everything to render the visit of outside representatives pleasant, and the only drawback is the intense heat. The sports begin at 2 o'clock tomorrow. Auckland is favorite for the banner with Canterbury 2nd and Wellington a good 3rd. Large numbers of visitors are here, and it) Fjrank Moeller-'s Masonic Hotel there are 150 people, while ifche Criterion, Clarendon, and other hot§ls are pushed to tbe utmost.
