(Per Press Association). Hobart, February 16, The cargo in the Pukaki's forehold was damaged considerably, but that in the afterhold escaped. The lading consisted chiefly of potatoes, oats and peas. The Marine Board were recently carrying on blasting operations in the vicinity, and the Pukaki struck on a boulder where only shingle existed before. The Pukaki has been berthed at the wharf. The hole in the bottom is stuffed with mattrasses and the pump reduced the water considerably. It is now ascertained all the cargo is damaged.
