The English captain refused to play unless Conningham apologised, which he did. and bowled Stoddart with the next ball, Callaway missed McLaren before he had scored, and also let Stoddart off when he had only made 8. The combined team in their first innings scored 107. In the Englishmen's second innings one wicket is down for 33 runs.
