The Temperance Question.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, February 15. The discussion of the temperance question was resumed at the Congregational Union Conference this afternoon, and the following resolution was unanimously adopted " That this Council recognising the manifold evils wrought by the drink traffic expresses itself in sympathy with all men aud movements which are beinj: made for the suppression of this irolilie source of evil and wrong. It urges upon the members of our churches the duty of doing everything in their power to promote the sobriety of society and to train up the young with sound opinions as to the dangers atteuding the so-called drinking customs of the present time aud the desirability of securing to the people the right of vetoing the traffic in their respective districts."
