Attempt to Shoot a Lawyer.

(Per Press Association) Auckland, Febuaryr 13. John Swarm, a settler of Raglan, while in the office of Messrs Kuaseli and Campbell, solicitors, this afternoon, conversing with Hugh Campbell, solicitor, drew a revolver. Campbell closed with him and Ihe revolver went off, the bullet lodging in the wall behind Campbell's chair. A clerk named Brown rushed into the room and snatched the revolver from Swarm's hands. It was a sixbarrelled one five chambers being loaded. Swarm was arrested and charged with attempting to shoot Hugh Campbell. Accused fancied he had a grievance against Campbell for years passed and had been brooding over it.
