» A LEGISLATOR'S DIFFICULTIES. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, February 4 Wm. McCourt, Chairman of Committees in the Legislative Assembly, has resigned his seat, and will sequestrate his estate. He intends to seek reelection, and states he found it necessary to take the steps he has owing to the pressure of financial institutions, he having become surety to certain persons. The Union S S, Company of N.Z. entertains the Federal iJouncil and delegates, and Preaiiers of the various colonies, and Postal representatives by a trip to Port Arthur. The Marine Board has suspended the certificate of Captain Peterson, of the tug Awhina, for twelve months from the date of the collision with the Princess. Adelaide, Feb. 4. The International Sailing Handicap was won by the Queensland yacht, Lady Norman, Secret of Sydney second, Vera, Queensland, third. Melbourne, This Day. The Clonacurry has been released from quarantine and a new crew shipped.
