Fatal Fire at Auckland.

(Per Press Association). Auckland, This Day. A block of shops on the Karangahape road, owned by Potter, were destroyed by fire. A boy, seven years of age, son of Cleal, a fruiterer, supposed to have been placed in safety, was afterwards found burned to death in the ruins. Others had narrow escapes. The total loss is estimated at £2000. The building in which the fire originated was occupied by Chas. Cleal, fruiterer, and the other shop destroyed was occupied by Mr Potter. Both were owned by Mr Potter. The adjoining building which was gutted was owned by Mr McKeras and occupied by Mr Weir, fancy goods shop.
