Anglican General Synod.

(Per Press Association.) Nelson, January 31. Ths thirteenth session of the Anglican General Synod commenced to-day, the Bishop of Auckland i\cting Primate) in the President's chair. Bishop Salisbury was welcomed by the Synod, He delivered an address, mainly dealing with questions and religious instruction in public schools, of which he is a strong adyocate. He urges an effort to get an act passed allowing the same in school hours, failing which increased attention to instruction before school, if practicable, especially by the teachers themselves The Bishop oi Melanesia gave notice to move to«morrow, That the Synod proceed to the election of a Primate.
