Napier Caledonian Sports.

(Per Press Association). Napier, January 30. To-day was observed as a full holiday for the annual Caledonian Sports on the Recreation Ground. The weather was fine, but exceedingly hot. The principal events were won a& follows : — . . Caledonian Handicap of 100, 200, and 440 yds — J. B. King (Sydney), 10 points, 1 ; Ellis (Takapau), and Tuckwell 5 points each, tied for second place. A mateur Handicap, fame distances W. J. Strickland, 10 points, 1 ; A. Rusir and Galland 8 points each. Mile Run — Kent (Wairoa) 1 ; Dette (Waipawa), 2 ; Jarry (Waipawa), 3. Seventeen ran. Time, 4min 30sec Three Mile Hun-E. Hall (Wairoa), 1 ; Wyeth, 2 ; Derungs (Wanganui), 3 Derungs entered a protest against the first two on the ground that they bad not sent in full performances. This will be settled to-morrow. The ticae of the winner from 95yds was 15niin 35sec. Hurdles, 440 yds —A. W. Watts (Feilding), 1 ; McDowell, 2 ; J. Dick, 3. Time, only 588ec. The Bicycle events resulted in the local men Fraser winning two and Laughley two. The piping was very good. J. Fraser ( iVairarapa) being successful in the Marches and Pibroch ; D. Campbell (Wellington) in Strathspeys and Reel. Stewart won the Highland Fling and Reel for men, and Moon for boys. Steward won the Shcautreuss.
