• (Per Press Association.) Sydney, January 29. The Labour Electoral League Conference has excised a portion of the Federation plank, demanding the abolition of the present defence force and its reconstruction on purely voluntary basis. The abolition of the Upper House is made the first plank in the place of land value taxation. Planks are added in favor of vesting the railways and other public works in the State or local Government bodies, exclusion of inferior alien races, graduated income tax, and vesting of liquor traffic in the State.
