PALMERSTON AMATEUR SPORTS.
At the Amateur Athletic Sports yesterday Bailey, of Feilding, put up the record high jump (sft 8in) ; Adsett, of Wanganui, won the pole jumping; Ryan, Napier, the long jump ; Rash, Palmerston, the maiden race ; Weekes, Palmerston, the 100-yards championship; J. Roach, the 100, 220, and 440-yards races ; Dodwell, the half-mile; Talbut, Wellington, the mile walk ; Barrel!, Wan* ganui, the mile and two-mile races ; Duncan, the hurdles ; Rankin, Wanganui, the consolation ; Wollerman, Palmerston, the one-mile and two-mile bicycle events ; and Croft, Palmerston, the five-mile bicycle. The day was fine» but the attendance was small.
