London Wool Market.

I Per Press Association.! London, January 17. At the wool salea a good catalogue was presented and prices were maintained The bidding is fair, especi ally for stylish combing. The buyers are chiefly from the Continent, but a few good lots have been taken to America. The total quantity of wool arrived up to date is 237,600 bales, of which 44,000 bales bave been sent forward, direct to the manufacturing districts. With the quantity left over from last soriep there will be 256,000 bales available for the present aeries. Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following wool cablegram from their London house (Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co.) :— London, January, 15th - " Average attendance of buyers and competition is limited. Faulty and inferior descriptions have declined 5 per cent. Other descriptions have declined a shade." The N. Z. L. and M. A. Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office dat-'d 15th inst. :--Wool -The sales opened this day, prices ruling in (Hirers' favor The principal decline has been in medium and inferior greasy merino, wbich have do clined -hi per lb. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is normal, but there is a want of confidence in the bid ding, and little demand. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series, is 300,000 bales, of which 44 000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct.
