The Colliery Dispute.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney, January 15. The decision of the delegate board that the lodges having disputes with companies with regard to the reduction in the hewing rate should endeavour to settle the matter locally, is not giving unmixed satisfaction. The Seaham miners have notified the management that they are prepared to return to work, but the manager has declined to recognise the men as a lodge, and said they could apply individually. The Wallsend proprietors have reduced the selling price of coal to 7s 6d in consequence of the strike. The ballot of the various miners has resulted in the withdrawal of the demand for an advance in the hewing rate.
